Totalpay, first target of the technology alliance between Netgem and ZTE

Netgem has signed a software agreement with technology solutions provider ZTE for the delivery of end-to-end television solutions to operators in Latin America.
The collaboration agreement will begin during the second quarter of 2017 through Mexican IPTV operator Totalplay, which will incorporate ZTE decoders with Netgem software.
TotalPlay, a long-term Netgem customer, is one of the fastest growing companies in Mexico and has already deployed 50,000km of fiber optics in more than 20 cities in Mexico, providing dual and triple play services, and including applications Of third parties like Netflix or blim.
"We welcome ZTE as a stable partner for TotalPlay's rapid growth and we are very pleased to continue working with Netgem and its innovative software expertise," said Alejandro Rodríguez, CFO of TotalPlay.
Netgem will continue to maintain and license its software platform to TotalPlay, both the existing subscriber base and all new set-top boxes that ZTE will deliver to TotalPlay in the coming years.
"This agreement with ZTE creates the opportunity for Netgem to extend the distribution of its software platform to new territories and help TotalPlay develop its growing business," said Joseph Haddad, CEO of Netgem.

SHANGHAI- Chinese vendor ZTE expects to end 2017 with approximately 300 commercial/POC virtualized networks globally, the company’s Principal Scientists of NFV/SDN solutions, told reporters during a press conference at Mobile World Congress Shanghai.
The executives said that the ZTE has already completed 240 virtualization network projects globally. “By February this year, we had 180 virtualized networks. We are seeing growing opportunities for virtualization projects involving the use of 5G technologies in 4G networks in emerging markets.”
