TOTALPLAY SELECTS VERIMATRIX
Anabelia Horbuz | September 14, 2016Mexican triple play operator Totalplay (Grupo Salinas) has selected Verimatrix Video Content Authority System (VCAS) platform to align with its network upgrade roadmap, which includes securing its On Demand service and supporting its IPTV and 4K/HEVC expansion plans. In a press release, Verimatrix explained that the VCAS architecture uniquely provides the security infrastructure, tools and support for Totalplay’s network plans. It combines a number of network-specific security solutions built on a common platform.Totalplay has deployed VCAS for Internet TV, which provides a complete multi-screen security solution for OTT services over networks implementing the HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) protocol, including live (broadcast) and on-demand delivery. The Mexican operator has also deployed VCAS for IPTV for better flexibility in securing its expanded IPTV network. Future plans include upgrading to VCAS Ultra to meet the security requirements to deliver UHD content.“Totalplay represents a next-generation video operator that recognizes the power of a partner ecosystem to help enable long-term growth,” said Steve Oetegenn, president of Verimatrix.
