Elisa plans 99% LTE coverage !!!

"Estonian cellular operator Elisa says it is embarking on a two-year network rollout programme in conjunction with equipment partner Huawei which will see 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) services made available to 99% of the country’s population.

The cellco says it currently has 77,300 LTE subscribers, having launched over a 800MHz system in April 2012 and adding a 1800MHz/2600MHz network in February 2013.

Mexico to deliver 2.5 million Digital TV sets to low income homes during October 2014 !

"The Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) from Mexico announced that the government will deliver ===> 2.5 million Digital TV sets in 415 cities => during October 2014. The organism informed that the first stage of the Digital TV transition ended with the delivery of 93,097 TV sets in 12 municipalities of the North East region of the country, specifically in the municipalities of Tamaulipas, Nuevo León and Coahuila.

The second stage of the transition started last August and includes the delivery of ===> 2.6 million TV sets in the region that limits the already provided States. The IFT established that analog signals must switch off on December 31st 2015 at the latest. However, the Telecommunications Reform schedule expects the transition in the North region of the country to take place on December 2014.

One of the requirements is to reach at least a 90% penetration of receptors and decoders suited to receive digital signals in low income homes located in the coverage area. “We have received information from the SCT (Secretary of Communications and Transport in Spanish) but so far we have not received any information that credits that there is an area with the 90% coverage required”, Gabriel Contreras, Commissioner-President of the institute, told El Universal newspaper.

The Mexican government will destine USD 1.5 billion for the program that defines which homes comply with the necessary conditions to receive the service and deliver the digital devices. This is a plan coordinated by the SCT and the Social Development Secretary. According to the unit, the new TV sets have HDMI and USB ports to connect to the Internet."

Résultats financiers EE montrent le réseau 4G de l'entreprise la plus importante dans le monde

EE a ajouté un supplément de 1,4 million de clients 4G dans les trois derniers mois, mais ses services à large bande de téléphonie fixe continue de croître lentement. 

===> Le plus grand réseau de téléphonie mobile du Royaume-Uni a désormais un énorme 5,3 millions de clients 4G.

===> Les services 4G de EE sont offerts à plus de 75 pour cent de la population maintenant et le réseau veut avoir 90 pour cent couverts par la fin de l'année 2014. 

Dans le même au Québec de l'équipe EE ajouté plus d'un million de clients 4G, seulement 18.000 parieurs signé pour son service haut débit domestique dans le dernier quart. 

EE va installer plus de ses magasins pour aider à stimuler service à la clientèle 
EE a maintenant 793 000 clients haut débit, en hausse de 93 000 à partir de l année Août EE régulière vend ADSL qui est disponible à environ 98,7 pour cent des locaux au Royaume-Uni. FTTC d'EE (Fiber to the Cabinet) à base de services ultrarapides, offrant des vitesses de téléchargement allant jusqu à 38Mbps et 76Mbps, sont disponibles à 54 pour cent du Royaume-Uni. 

===> L arrivée de EE TV (avec Netgem stb N8500), plate-forme gratuit de télévision numérique pour les clients haut débit d'EE, haut débit pourrait voir les chiffres grimpent, meme qu il n offre pas de clients beaucoup plus que la boîte YouView TNT ou achetés de la tablette serait en termes de chaînes et de services. 

Neal Milsom, directeur financier de L EE a déclaré: Nous investissons pour faire avancer Top innover pour le compte de nos clients en leur offrant non seulement le meilleur réseau, mais également l amélioration du service à la clientèle, la gamme de dispositifs d EE marque attractifs, plans partagés, et bientôt EE TV. "

==> Alors qu il s apprête à lancer EE TV, le réseau ne se repose pas sur ses lauriers 4G. EE est de lancer des services LTE-Advanced plus tard ce mois-ci, qui promet d augmenter considérablement les vitesses possibles sur le réseau, même si vous n avez pas le téléphone plus tard et plus ou dongle haut débit mobile. 

LTE-Advanced ne sera disponible que dans le centre de Londres au départ, avant de déployer dans le Grand Londres l année prochaine. 

===> En attendant, EE prévoit de mettre le haut débit à double vitesse de 40 villes à travers le Royaume-Uni d ici la fin de l'année 2014.

Avec la dynamisation de la concurrence grâce à l'arrivée de Netflix en septembre 2014, le marché de la SVOD va forcément évoluer dans les prochains mois. Les services de vidéos à la demande vont chercher à se différencier les uns des autres. 

Pour certains, le positionnement passera par le prix (Jook Vidéos est le moins cher),ou par les contenus exclusifs (Netflix avec ses propres séries et films comme Orange is the New Black), tandis que pour d'autres il sera lié à des fonctionnalités singulières telles que le mode hors connexion. 

Enfin, certaines plateformes joueront d'autres cartes : OCS est ainsi un bouquet de chaînes hybrides avec des contenus linéaires (séries US+24) mais également à la demande, tandis que Videofutur mise sur la distribution de contenus via une Box indépendante des fournisseurs d'accès...."

"EE is targeting its 10 million mobile customers that do not subscribe to a pay-TV provider with an EE TV set-top box (N8500 Home Media Gateway).



The mobile operator and broadband provider estimates that around 40% of its 25 million customers are free-to-air homes and can be converted to the IPTV service, which will be bundled with its broadband packages from  £9.95 per month.

"...For the uninitiated, EE is the largest cellular operator in the UK, a merger of Orange and T-Mobile to turn the tails on O2 and Vodafone, which were comfortably winning the UK mobile war before these two merged to overtake them.

The existence of 3 UK means that merger still left four operational MNOs in the UK, otherwise it might have been blocked and is probably why Orange and Deutsche Telekom has not done the same elsewhere.

But from the pay TV point of view, it comes with quite a few advantages. First it has the backing of Orange, which is strong in TV in its own country, but which also has a few European subsidiaries – in particular in Poland where it owns Telekomunikacja Polska and offers DTH and IPTV, and in Spain where it is building out fibre (with Vodafone), and offering it with TV.

EE can also call back on the experience of Deutsche Telekom, which has pay TV operations in Germany, Croatia, Greece, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia. Between them this ups the ante on their content buying power reaching well over 10 million homes already and looking to take that up significantly by adding homes in the UK.

Here it has over 25 million customers out of a population of an estimated 64 million, giving it a marketing target in at least 10 million UK homes.

Collectively in TV these two businesses almost as powerful as BSkyB. The other issue is that Orange has the experience of surviving the triple play wars in France, the only the place in Europe that grew up habitually offering free TV to broadband customers. The result of this is that it uses “boxes”, which typically offer a full triple play in a broadband gateway acting as a set top, a VoIP controller and a gateway, as a matter of course.

In France the four telcos are now fighting it out, with Homespot Wi-Fi undermining cellular pricing as well.

Another advantage is that these companies have relationships with equipment vendors such as Netgem, which are used to making superior boxes to work in a tight economy.

We can reveal that this service is being backed by a device and software from Netgem, and this seems to be its first deal in the UK. It naturally hopes this will be an invasion of the French way of doing things and while Iliad’s Free seems intent on buying it way into the US, by acquiring T-Mobile, it looks like this is the assault on the UK market that these two have waited for. As you look around Europe, Orange or T-Mobile have been successful in most smaller markets with the exception of Italy, Spain and the UK...."

"...Tout d'abord, il est important de noter Que l'entreprise n'investit pas tant que ça dans sa proposition. Clients à large bande auront la set-top box EE TV pour Free, qui affirme la société est une valeur de 300 £, mais il ne sera pas fourni à sans coûts. Il est entendu Que ont aussi le set-top box fabricant, la société française Netgem, supportent la plus grande partie du risque financier qui consiste à donner le matériel.
Le fabricant sera remboursé au cours d'un contrat de services à large bande, mais il ya peu de capital à risque pour l'EE...."
