Amazon's NetBox HD and SoundBox HD Freeview Play set top boxes (UK)

(SEPTEMBER 24, 2018)

 REVIEW
Conclusion

Both boxes provide a simple to use, easy to set-up way of watching catch-up and on-demand content on your big screen TV, with the SoundBox HD also offering a signifiant upgrade to any TV’s in-built speakers.
At £129.00 for the Netbox HD and £249.00 for the SoundBox HD, both also offer great value for money when you factor in that this includes a whole year of Amazon Prime, and that the SoundBox HD also negates the need to buy a separate soundbar.
If you’re in the market for a new Freeview set top box or are looking to upgrade your TV listening experience without filling your room with a full surround sound system, we think both of these devices should be at the top of your options list.

...add EE TV just for an additional £8 a month...

(september 2018)

Add TV for an extra £8 a month

UNLIMITED EE BROADBAND ONLY £19.50 A MONTH FOR 18 MONTHS

If you're signing up to any of EE's broadband deals
you can add EE TV for an additional £8 a month.

With EE TV you get a set top box with access to more than 70 Freeview channels, including 11 in HD. You can pause and rewind live TV and record up to 600 hours of standard TV or 300 hours of HD, as well as being able to access on demand and catch-up services including NOW TV and BBC iPlayer.
As you can watch EE TV through your phone or tablet as well as on your actual television, your family will be able to watch four different programmes around the home at the same time – that should put an end to those arguments over the remote control.
EE TV's interactive guide will show you when a programme is trending on Twitter and you can even personalise the guide to suit your own TV tastes. The 'Flick and Fetch' feature also lets you move whatever you're watching from your phone to your TV, or vice versa, with a flick of your finger.

"In the second half of this year (2018), Netgem will release NetBox 4K and AirPlay and Dolby Digital support, and will launch the SoundBox 4K with additional microphones to enable voice control without the need for a separate Alexa device." Any hopes for these super hardware on EE TV?!
