Netgem, an entertainment solution provider for telecoms operators, has created its own Alexa skill enabling content discovery and Set-Top Box control with voice. This skill will be available soon in the UK.
YouView is using the Video Skill API to pilot a voice-controlled TV experience that makes it even easier for viewers to interact with their broad range of content and apps. RépondreSupprimer"Youview c'est la plateforme hybride de tv connectée (TNT + IP) en UK disponible auprès de 3 millions de set-top-box actifs. C'est la force de BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, BT, TalkTalk and Arqiva
Youview a fait évoluer sa plateforme en fin 2017 avec une solution de tv connectée ott en cloud et a également mis à jour (software) l'ensemble des 3 millions de décodeurs actifs en uk. Membre du DVB, Youview a décidé de respecter les normes de diffusion en vigueur. Digital Video Broadcasting, est un ensemble de normes de télévision numérique édictées par le consortium européen DVB, et utilisées dans un grand nombre de pays. Bref, pour que l'ensemble des acteurs qui composent Youview se soient mis d'accord pour avancer sur une plate-forme TV commune, c'est à dire une solution apparemment très évolutive et flexible. Je pense que le marché anglais va considérablement bouger dans les prochaines semaines en terme d'innovation.
Je me pose la question de savoir plus précisément sur quelle solution commune en cloud TV repose la nouvelle plateforme Youview puisqu'aucun détails n'a encore filtré dans la presse depuis décembre mis à part la mise à jour substantiel des 3 millions de box ;)
Beaucoup vont se dire que je pense à la nouvelle solution by Netgem au vu de la configuration de marché, je leur réponds bien évidemment qu'il s'agit d'une forte éventualité ...
En plus d'avoir dans le viseur EE/BT, j'ai aussi TalkTalk en ligne de mire car ce dernier va lancer une nouvelle offre dès le printemps (mars ou avril) et que l'opérateur a décidé d'investir massivement dans la fibre en UK.
Richard Halton CEO de YOUVIEW qui cite Netgem comme référence en Europe dans un article de janvier 2018 !
