One of Northern Ireland’s leading Full Fibre broadband providers Fibrus is entering the television market for the first time with the launch of Fibrus TV.
The launch will see Fibrus offer a new television and entertainment service that will bring live TV, streaming services and gaming together through a single platform for its customer base, which now exceeds 155,000 homes and businesses.
Powered by Netgem's PLEIO entertainment platform, Fibrus TV will be available exclusively to Fibrus broadband customers
Based on Netgem’s PLEIO platform, which includes a streaming puck and gaming controller, the monthly service is priced at £7.99
The launch will see Fibrus offer a new television and entertainment service that will bring live TV, streaming services and gaming together through a single platform for its customer base, which now exceeds 155,000 homes and businesses Fibrus TV is delivered through customers’ broadband connections, allowing customers to access free-to-air TV via Freely, without the need for a satellite dish or aerial. The package includes more than 100 live television channels, including BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and 5, plus over 150 additional streamed channels, streaming and entertainment apps from the Google Play Store, and a library of over 300+ cloud-based games.

Net income growth continues!s

NETGEM's activity in the third quarter of 2020 was marked by a continuation of

the commercial dynamics of the “as a service” model of its activity with

operators (in B2B and B2B2C) or with its direct customers (B2C), who represent

this quarter more than 90% of the activity. The highlights are:

• A growth in net income that is confirmed every quarter and more marked from one year to the next due to the integration of Vitis,
• The continued growth of the subscriber base in Finland with Elisa, by Great Britain with the various Very Broadband operators and in France including the integration of Comcable.
• The launch in early October of the new range of MESH products in France with VIDEOFUTUR customers.

In the 3rd quarter of 2020, despite an 11% drop in turnover stemming from the foreseeable decrease in Box's historical sales activities, the net income is up 2% from the previous quarter. This reflects the now predominant share of management services activities customer base in the Group's business. Consolidation of French activities (Vitis) contributes € 4.0m out of the total € 6.4m of Net Income, and thus enables to show 100% growth.

The group's gross cash flow amounted to € 8.0 million at the end of September. A line of credit of € 1.6 million was collected in early October in anticipation of future refunds under the research tax credit.

New player in streaming market as Pure Telecom launches new phone, TV and broadband package (23 July, 2020).

High-speed broadband provider Pure Telecom is entering the triple-play market with a new broadband, telephone and TV package with Netgem.

A study by Pure Telecom of 1,000 adults in July 2020 found that the majority of the Irish population is now paying for a video streaming service with the average adult spending €18.91 per month.

La fibre pour tous, chantier n°1 11 milliards d'euros, une somme, et c'est la généralisation de la fibre optique qui en constitue le principal poste. 

=> Pour couvrir, en 2025, 97% des locaux du territoire en FttH ou FttE (fibre jusqu'au domicile ou à l'entreprise), 5,3 milliards d'euros seront encore nécessaire, calcule InfraNum, sur la base d'une étude réalisée par Ernst & Young et le cabinet spécialisé Tactis. 3 milliards seraient à prendre en charge par la filière, le reste par les pouvoirs publics au travers des différents dispositifs de financement du plan France THD. Eir to upgrade 890 communities to fibre broadband - to connect 300 k homes in rural Ireland

Eir agrees to invest an additional €200m to upgrade 890 communities to fibre broadband.

Incumbent operator Eir has made a commitment with the Government to connect 300,000 homes in rural Ireland with fibre broadband on a commercial basis.

The move addresses the disputed premises that Eir said it could serve, but that had been included in the National Broadband Plan (NBP).

‘The agreement that I have signed with Eir means one house every minute, of every working day, will get fibre-to-the-door, high-speed broadband over the next 90 weeks’
