  3. :D ==> JANUARY 2021: Community Fibre says its service is expanding rapidly in Brent, Camden, City of London, Croydon, Ealing, Hackney, Hammersmith and Fulham, Islington, Lambeth, Lewisham, Newham, Richmond upon Thames, Southwark, Sutton, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, Wandsworth and Westminster.  :D

"Sky and BT are some of the biggest brands in telly and broadband nationwide, but consumers who ignore some lesser-known rivals risk missing out some astonishing deals. Following the Government push to bring gigabit-capable fibre to more homes, a number of new companies have started to emerge to offer high-speed fibre broadband, and one of these, Community Fibre, is now bringing TV channels to users as well.

Community Fibre serves large swathes of the capital with plans to expand in the coming months. It has now joined forces with hardware firm Netgem to offer customers a brand new TV service with their superfast fibre.

Dubbed Community FibreTV, this package includes a fully 4K-ready TV set-top box which can record and pause live television and is fully compatible with Alexa voice controls. This set-top box also includes access to over 135 channels plus there’s the addition of popular streaming services and 30,000 hours of on-demand content.

Along with all the usual content from iPlayer, ITV, All4 and My5 there’s also a range of premium TV channels such as Premier Sports and La Liga TV plus 1000s’ of extra on-demand movies and documents. You even get YouTube Kids as part of the bundle.

Cheesy Community Fibre might not be a household name but it’s certainly giving its bigger rivals a run for their money. The firm now offers 3Gbps broadband speeds for consumers which allows homes to download a full HD movie in under 30 seconds.

BT and Virgin Media continue to invest in their networks but the fastest speeds possible from these firms is 1Gbps. As we mentioned earlier, Community Fibre is limited to London right now, so Undecided this TV upgrade is only available in parts of the capital."

Macquarie Asset Management has announced that, on behalf of its institutional clients and managed funds, it has provided GBP100 million (USD122 million) of debt financing to British pure fibre provider Community Fibre.

In a press release regarding the matter, Macquarie Asset Management said the funding – which forms part of a GBP985 million financing package previously announced in October 2022 – will enable Community Fibre to accelerate the roll out of its fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) infrastructure to more than 2.4 million properties across London and its surrounding areas by the end of 2024.

Commenting, Tom Van Rijsewijk, Managing Director at Macquarie Asset Management, said: ‘With the increasing digitisation of our society and economy, access to faster and more reliable broadband has never been more important. We are very pleased to be able to provide this financing to Community Fibre, offering an opportunity for our investors to help more communities across London access ultrafast broadband.’

(Community Fibre Broadband is available in several large cities, including Hammersmith, Wandsworth, Forest Gate, Greater London, and Southwark. In these cities, its fastest broadband speeds range from 90 to 425 Mbps. Of the smaller cities Community Fibre Broadband serves, such as Little Burstead, Bredhurst, Arlingham, Brampton, and Wrotham, maximum internet speeds vary from 0 to 836 Mbps, and most of their customers obtain speeds between 273 and 836 Mbps. - https://fairinternetreport.com/Community-Fibre)
