T-Box goes free-to-air
Telstra has said that it has an on-going plan to bring more free-to-air TV content to T-Box customers, including more catch-up services.
"This partnership with SBS opens up a great deal of fantastic content to our customers, available on-demand after its broadcast," said Eric Kearley, Telstra Director IPTV and Pay TV.
"We are working on adding more free-to-air catch up services to the T-Box, which we hope to announce soon."
Freeview Plus, which will bring together all free-to-air catch-up services through HbbTV technology, is also gearing up to launch September 2.

RépondreSupprimer"Some exciting new features are being added to the TBox over the coming weeks!
Firstly, for Foxtel on TBox we will have the "Restart" and "Backtrack" features introduced to all of the channels contained in the "Get Started Package" by the 27th August. (Currently Nat Geo has these new features active right now with the others to follow)
The "Restart" feature allows users to go to the beginning of a program if the start time of the program is 30 minutes or less in the past.
To use Restart, you can go to the start of a program by pressing the yellow button on your remote control.
A yellow dot will appear on the program info overlay, vertical and horizontal channel stacks and EPG of the programs for which restart is available.
The "Backtrack" feature allows you to rewind programs playing on selected Foxtel on T-Box channels up to 30 minutes.
To use Backtrack, press the 'rewind' button on your remote control. You can rewind up to 30 minutes. You can play, pause, rewind and forward the program that you are watching within the 30 minutes window.
So by the 27th of August "Restart" and "Backtrack" will be available for all channels in the Get Started Package, with more channels to be included in the future.

And secondly – "Catch Up TV" – a free to air catch up service, is set to launch on the TBox in September.
SBS ON DEMAND on T-Box is expected to launch in September 2014 and will sit within a new “Catch Up TV” menu item, which will be listed on the main menu of the T-Box (see attached imagery). http://techau.com.au/sbs-on-demand-coming-to-telstra-t-box-next-month/
The content available will include all SBS “Catch Up” TV content, as well as other video content SBS makes available on its App.
Telstra Director IPTV and Pay TV Eric Kearley said the partnership with SBS was part of an ongoing plan to bring more FTA content to T-Box customers.
“Catch Up TV is all about having the flexibility to watch your favourite programs even if you can’t sit down to watch them live on TV.
“This partnership with SBS opens up a great deal of fantastic content to our customers, available on-demand after its broadcast.
“We are working on adding more free-to-air catch up services to the T-Box which we hope to announce soon.”
