Millennials have arrived.
They are the largest generation in history, amplifying their own views
using technology.
Other groups follow and will increasingly follow their lead. These
Millennials are tech savvy and are seen as the first generation of “digital natives”. They are hard to
target, hard to reach and hard to engage. They consume and use TV and Video in non-traditional
ways.
Millennials are already acting as force for change and unusually, they may actually keep changing
even as they grow older and wealthier, further amplifying their impact on TV and content based
industries.
Traditional TV won’t go away anytime soon. However, it too is changing. There are a range of
experiences that Millennials expect or would suit them. We outline some of them here from
multiscreen to mobile to social.
In this document we explore some of the challenges and
opportunities that this presents for telcos and mobile operators in particular.
