Telstra Tbox: netgem upgrade needed !!! (Youtube became incompatible)

TBox needs NETGEM upgrade !! (YouTube became incompatible !)

"YouTube: Watch YouTube videos on the biggest screen in your house. With the YouTube app on EE TV Box, you can sit back and watch your favourite videos and channels from your couch."
What apps are available on EE TV? (...., YouTube,...)

(Mars 2015)
"Youtube has gone from Tbox?"

"Yes, it is gone.

YouTube changed up their system for all their videos which made it incompatible with older device so for that reason it was no longer able to be used on the T-Box as it couldn't run the updated version.

It also happened with a lot of older STB, Early connected TVs and other connected devices such as DVD or Blu-Ray players...

I believe it was first announced a few months back but I am not sure if it was just posted online (Telstra Exchange and here on CrowdSupport) or if it was (at least meant) to be communicated T-Box users in other ways.

"From 20 April 2015 the YouTube application on T-Box will no longer be available due to an upcoming Application Program Interface (API) change by Google. Regrettably this means you will no longer be able to access YouTube videos on T-Box.

When you try to play a video on the T-Box YouTube app from 20 April you'll see a video which will feature this text ‘YouTube is upgrading to a newer version of YouTube which is not currently supported by this device. To learn more, and see where to go to watch YouTube, visit youtube.com/devicesupport'

Due to technical limitations with the T-Box the new version of YouTube app will not be made available. "
