Netgem TV has today announced that their IPTV box and service, which is typically bundled by broadband ISPs like Brsk, TalkTalk, ConnectFibre, CommunityFibre  and others, will benefit from a new collaboration with the FIFA+ streaming platform that will bring “unparalleled access to free, high-quality football content” to users of the service."​

Netgem launched the application IQIYI.

New player in streaming market as Pure Telecom launches new phone, TV and broadband package (23 July, 2020).

High-speed broadband provider Pure Telecom is entering the triple-play market with a new broadband, telephone and TV package with Netgem.

A study by Pure Telecom of 1,000 adults in July 2020 found that the majority of the Irish population is now paying for a video streaming service with the average adult spending €18.91 per month.

They will also have access to streaming services from providers including YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, All4 and Plex, as well as ad-free kids’ TV provider Hopster. The service is integrated with Alexa voice control.

Eir to upgrade 890 communities to fibre broadband - to connect 300 k homes in rural Ireland

Eir agrees to invest an additional €200m to upgrade 890 communities to fibre broadband.

Incumbent operator Eir has made a commitment with the Government to connect 300,000 homes in rural Ireland with fibre broadband on a commercial basis.

The move addresses the disputed premises that Eir said it could serve, but that had been included in the National Broadband Plan (NBP).

‘The agreement that I have signed with Eir means one house every minute, of every working day, will get fibre-to-the-door, high-speed broadband over the next 90 weeks’
